Fire: Fuel, Light, and the Safe Zone
The fire is the run’s center. It is not just a light source: the official description makes it the warmth/protection system and the boundary that defines safety after dark.
What the fire does
It provides warmth, light, and protection during the night. The boundary lines around it are the protective zone. Wood keeps it burning. Everything else in the early loop exists to buy time for wood, food, and a weapon.
A fire-first routine
- Keep a wood buffer before exploring.
- Return before the light fails; do not test the boundary at dusk.
- Repair or refuel before spending materials on cosmetics or a second building.
- If a night is going badly, fall back to the fire instead of kiting into the trees.
Unknown values
Fuel per log, burn time, maximum fire level, and whether rain or distance affects the fire are not published. This page will not invent them.
